Set-Up

After finding a suitable location, you can begin to unpack your PC and accessories. Make sure to proceed carefully while unpacking, all components are impact sensitive. The hard disk is most easily damaged. Avoid all unnecessary transport and impacts of your PC and components.

Important Safety Instructions

The following information will help you to use your ShoeBox SFF PC efficiently and effectively.

  1. Always follow the safety instructions given in the manual or guide that is supplied with your SFF PC.
  2. Only set up your SFF PC on a stable, solid, non slip and flat surface.
  3. Never cover, adjust or block and openings or vents on your PC. This should help to avoid any overheating which is detrimental to the efficiency of your PC.
  4. Never place your SFF PC in a cabinet or closed area. This includes a box, case or similar whilst the PC is in operation.
  5. Never insert objects through openings in the case. In doing so you may be exposing yourself to dangerous voltages.
  6. Only connect your PC using the supplied cable to an AC power socket. If in any uncertainty, for example if the power cable is missing etc, please contact us.
  7. Your SFF PC is supplied with a standard power cable. This had been designed in compliance with safety requirements. This is why we advise that you avoid using a different power cable.
  8. Never place any objects on the power cable and ensure that the cable is laid out of the way or covered by a channel cable protector so there is no danger of others tripping over it.
  9. If you connect your SFF PC to a multiple socket, please ensure that the capacity of the connected products does not exceed the rated capacity of the multiple socket.
  10. Always disconnect your SFF PC and any other from the power source before cleaning them.
  11. Never allow your SFF PC to come into contact with water or any other liquids.

 

Safety instructions and maintenance

 

If you notice any problems with your ShoeBox SFF PC, only attempt to fix them using the instructions given in this guide.

Inappropriate use of your SFF PC can represent a safety risk or cause permanent damage to the PC. In the event of a problem, you should disconnect your PC from the power supply and call the support hotline given on the guarantee card. Further to this, you should immediately notify us if one of the following problems occurs:

 

  1. The power cable is damaged or frayed.
  2. Liquid has penetrated the SFF PC.
  3. That the PC has been exposed to rain, water or other liquids.
  4. That the PC has been dropped or the case is damaged.
  5. The performance of the SFF PC has noticeably changed, indicative that a repair is necessary.

 

Warning

 

Please note the following in the need to open the case:

 

  1. Disconnect the SFF PC from the power supply and also disconnect any other devices.
  2. Always ensure that the case is firmly shut and screws tightened before connecting the PC or any other connected devices to the power supply.

 

Important support information

 

There are some important details that you should have ready before contacting technical support staff by email or telephone. You can find these on your invoice, can these include:

 

  • Purchase date
  • Invoice number
  • Product name
  • Serial number ( this can be found on the case of your SFF PC )
