The word Apogee means the farthest or highest point according to Merriam-Webster. With this definition in mind Swiftech gave this name to their top of the line water block. The Swiftech Apogee under various sub-names (GT, GTZ etc.) is one of the best water blocks out. But can the Apogee keep Intel’s newest i7 965 cool running full out?
Read on to see if the Apogee GTZ can maintain its orbit or if it crashes to earth in flames.

  • Hiper Anubis Aluminum ATX Case Evaluation
Hiper is a name that used to be synonymous with high end modular PSUs. However they were not content to leave it there and have branched out to many other facets of performance gear. One of their recent products is the Anubis high-performance PC Enclosure. This is a Mid-Tower design with an interesting twist in looks and cooling. We took a good long look at the Anubis to see if the design, looks and performance are worth your hard earned money.

  • Cryostasis Technical Preview Demo
When Ageia was running the PhysX game the biggest complain (other than needing another card in an increasingly crowded system) was the lack of game support. The second complaint right on the heels of the first was that even in games that supported PhysX there was nothing big to motivate anyone to want to spend the extra money.
Now that nVidia has taken over these questions are still there but the Green team is working very hard to answer them. With that in mind we show you Cryostasis, the first game ever to include PhysX accelerated fluid. Using SPH (smoothed particle hydrodynamics) Cryostasis will be able to simulate fluid in a way never seen before.

Although we do not have the full game we do have a rendering demo (time demo) to show off what the game should be capable of.

  • CoolerMaster ATCS 840 Evaluation
CoolerMaster has been hard at work over the last few months turning out some top notch products.
From the HAF 932 to the V8, now they have dropped another Full Size (perhaps jumbo would be a better word) case that build on the success of the HAF and refines it into something even better.
I am talking about the ATCS 840, this case in CoolerMaster’s Classic Series and looks like it might just be one of the best all around cases out.

  • HP Touchsmart IQ816 PC
    Brief Review
Quite frankly, the whole touch screen on a computer up until now seemed impractical to me. I may have just changed my mind, sort of. When you open up the HP Touchsmart IQ816 PC box, the feeling is of excitement. For this unit is not only slick in design, but rugged and well built. Slightly heavy (35.28 lbs approx), but nothing the well designed adjustable rear stand can't handle.
Very reminiscent of an Apple iMac, the computer feels a whole lot different than your typical all in one PC's. Very elegant and modern lines.
The TouchSmart IQ816 runs on a Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz with 4 GB of RAM, and a 750GB hard drive. The Built in Display is a 25.5-inch flat panel display capable of 1920 x 1200 resolution. Want to know more? Lets get to the spec's first....

The new firmware of the TS-509 Pro has brought a number of benefits to the business users, specifically cost-effective and flexible storage expansion as well as secure data protection. To meet the demand for high security data protection of the business users, the TS-509 Pro now supports AES 256-bit volume-based encryption. The encrypted disk volumes of the NAS must be unlocked by the encryption password to be accessed, which eliminates the...

  • HP Mini 1035NR
    Brief Review
The HP Mini 1035NR Netbook (aka. HP Mini 1000 line) is HP's next addition to the growing netbook market. Given the current flood of netbooks, there appears to be some room for vendors to provide a better experience to different users at varying price points.
That said, the HP 1035 is a good performer when compared to it's predecessor the HP Mini-Note 2133 which was slightly under powered by the Via C7-M (1.2G) processor. The 1035 is powered by Intel Atom 270 (1.6 Ghz) Processor with 1 Gig of RAM, and a 60 GB hard Drive running Windows XP Home. Having experienced both the MSI Wind and the eee PC line, I'll be using my knowledge with those as a reference point.
