How to install the Michelin GPS kit on Flybook - 2006/09/24 15:17 Installing Software:


  1. Connect your external CD/DVD Drive to your Flybook


  2. Insert the CD supplied by Via Michelin into your external CD/DVD Drive


  3. If the CD does not auto run, double-click the My Computer icon on your Desktop and navigate (by double-clicking on the CD icon in the Devices with Removable Storage section) so that you can see the contents of the Via Michelin CD. Double-click the Setup icon (there are two Setup icons – you need to double-click the application type icon).


  4. When the Choose Setup Language appears select English and click OK


  5. The Via Michelin wizard window should now appear, click Next


  6. For the License Agreement click Yes (only if you agree with the Conditions)


  7. Choose Destination Location click Next


  8. Vocal Guidance language select the language of you choice and click Next


  9. Start Coping Files click Next


  10. InstallShield Wizard Complete click Next




Pairing Bluetooth GPS Receiver:


  1. Switch the Bluetooth receiver on - you should see a flashing blue light on the display of the receiver (if you do not see the blue light please check that it has been charged)


  2. Switch you Flybook Bluetooth on by pressing the Fn and F10 keys at the same time. You should see a blue flashing light to the bottom right of your screen (if you do not see this light please refer to the User Manual supplied with you Flybook).


  3. A Bluetooth icon should appear in your system tray (bottom right of you screen next to the clock), right click this icon and select Bluetooth Setup Wizard.


  4. Bluetooth Setup Wizard should now appear, check the second radial option labelled I want to find a specific Bluetooth Device and configure how this computer will use its services then click Next


  5. The Flybook will now carryout a search for any Bluetooth enabled devices. Once the search has completed click on the icon for your GPS receiver and then click Next.


  6. Bluetooth Security Setup click the Skip Pairing button


  7. Bluetooth Service Selection Check (with a tick) the box to the left of BT-GPS COM Port


  8. The Bluetooth Properties window should now appear - Uncheck the Secure Connection box (you do not want to see a tick next to Secure Connection). Please make a note of the COM Port number (this is usually COM6) as you will need this number later when running the navigation software for the first time. Click the Apply button, then the OK button


  9. Bluetooth Service Selection click the Finish button



Navigating:


  1. Right click the Bluetooth icon in your system tray (bottom right of you screen next to the clock) and select Quick Connect, then select Bluetooth Serial Port (the Bluetooth icon should now turn Green).


  2. You should have a new Icon on your Desktop named Mapstore, click this Icon.


  3. At the top of the Via Michelin Mapstore window click Display, and then click Navigation Mode


  4. Either by clicking the mouse or using your stylus click anywhere on the screen to bring the Settings windows up


  5. Click GPS Parameters, A GPS window should now appear, in the box to the right of where Port: is written please enter the COM Port number you recorded (This is the number you made a note of earlier when pairing your Bluetooth device – it is usually 6). To the right of the Port: box there is a dropdown, please click on the black arrow pointing down and select 115200 bauds. Click on the tab named Test. If you see a green tick top right of the GPS window you will never have to repeat this section (section 4), click OK. If you see a red cross please call us on the support number 0845 222 66 44)


  6. Either by clicking the mouse or using your stylus click anywhere on the screen to bring the Settings windows up. Click 3D mode


  7. Either by clicking the mouse or using your stylus click anywhere on the screen to bring the Settings windows up, click Navigate to and enter your destination details in the Search Text field. The Kind of search dropdown allows you to select your destination type (ie Road, Street, City Centre etc.)
